The Texas Heart Institute Journal (ISSN 0730-2347) is a copyrighted publication. No textual matter, tables, or figures may be copied for republication, electronic transmittal, or storage without the written permission of the Senior Manuscript Editor, nor may it be used in addresses, seminars, or symposia without such permission. Persons engaged in research may make single copies for personal use when this activity falls within the definition of "fair use" as set forth in U.S. Copyright Law. These copies may not be sold, used for advertising purposes, nor incorporated into new works. Multiple copies for hospital or classroom use are permitted, as long as written permission is obtained in advance from the Senior Manuscript Editor.

Reprint Policy

Reprint orders of fewer than 100 copies should be addressed to the author whose name and address are given under the instructions for ordering reprints, on the opening page of the article. The Texas Heart Institute does not order reprints, nor have them available.

Reprint orders of 100 copies or more require a royalty payment to the Texas Heart Institute Journal, and the Senior Manuscript Editor's written permission to print. (Note section herein on Copyright.) Printing expenses are borne by the requestor. Contact the Journal office for questions concerning permissions and reprint royalty fees.

Advertising Policy

Advertisements are limited to those promoting products and services relevant to the practice of medicine and surgery, and allied fields. All advertisements proposed for insertion are subject to inspection and approval by the publisher, but acceptance of advertising does not in any manner imply endorsement by the Texas Heart Institute, the Texas Heart Institute Journal, the Texas Heart Institute Foundation, or affiliated institutions.

Subscription Rates

Within the United States, the Texas Heart Institute Journal is sent to medical cardiologists and cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons. The Journal is also sent, upon request, to public and medical school libraries, and to internists with a subspecialty in cardiology. To help defray production and mailing costs, Institutional subscribers are requested to make an annual donation of $100 to the Journal. All others may subscribe at an annual rate of $70 (U.S.), $80 (Outside U.S.). Click here to subscribe by credit card online.
