Question:
With long Q-T syndrome, what precautions should I take?
I have QT long intervals. I’ve had heart failure and heart attack 2 weeks ago. Do I need to get a Life Alert system?

Answer:
by Texas Heart Institute cardiologist, Patrick J. Cook, MD
First thing I'd do is check with my cardiologist. Long QT intervals can be benign (or not), and associated with certain drugs or electrolyte abnormalities (or not). These questions need be addressed by a cardiologist.
