Making Healthy Food Choices: Go Heart!

Goal

The students will understand that personal health decisions and behaviors affect their health. They will recognize that the body needs foods from all of the food groups in order to receive the nutrients it needs to grow and stay healthy.

Instructional Objectives

  • Students will identify the basic food groups.
  • Students will discriminate healthy food choices from unhealthy food choices.
  • Students will describe the effects of eating too much fat and sugar.
  • Students will recognize that the size of food portions depends on the age and activity level of a person.
