An Epic Day for THI at BioHouston’s Annual Chili Cookoff

BioHouston held it’s 16th Annual Chili Cook-off at the Bayou City Event Center last Friday, and members from across Texas Heart Institute participated in the festivities. The theme for THI’s eleventh year was “Epic Treatments for a Gnarly Disease” and the talented Amy Caivano from the Molecular Cardiology Research Laboratory led the team to earn three awards.

BioHouston is a non-profit founded to establish Houston as a global competitor in life science and biotechnology commercialization by joining together scientists, intellectual property and product development experts, venture capitalists and pharmaceutical companies. In addition to fellowship, food, fun and entertainment, the Annual BioHouston Chili Cook-off creates an environment that stimulates interactions and promotes fellowship between the founding academic/research member institutions and other partners.
