Texas Heart Institute staff were at the Houston Astros game on Labor Day this year to celebrate meeting our wellness challenge step goals. The crew sported THI logo baseball caps and special shirts with Cooley on the back and the number 62 for our founding year.

The ceremonial first pitches were thrown by Novalee and Addison to honor childhood cancer awareness month and by Longhorns wide receiver Jordan Whittington. Did you know that Ceremonial first pitches have been thrown by at least two Texas Heart Institute heart surgeons? Dr. Denton Cooley threw his strike at the Astrodome during THI’s 25^th anniversary year. Dr. Bud Frazier threw his pitch at Minute Maid Park.
