HOUSTON (July 31, 2023) — The Texas Heart Institute Center for Cardiovascular Care proudly announces that Dr. Briana Costello and Dr. Alex Postalian have been selected as Super Doctors ® Rising Stars. This prestigious recognition is a testament to their exceptional skills, dedication and commitment to providing outstanding health care to their patients.

The selection process for both Super Doctors and Rising Stars is rigorous and designed to identify health care providers who have achieved a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. To be eligible for inclusion in the Rising Stars list, candidates must be active and fully licensed to practice for approximately 10 years or less. In the case of Super Doctors, the selection is based on a survey of doctors invited to nominate colleagues they believe to be exceptional in their respective fields.

In addition to the survey, the research staff at Super Doctors contributes to the pool of candidates by searching through medical databases, online sources and publications for providers who have attained specific credentials, honors or professional achievements. This ensures that doctors in less visible or highly specialized medical treatment areas also receive recognition.

While approximately 5% of doctors within the respective state or region are named Super Doctors, the Rising Stars list is even more exclusive, with only the top 2.5% of doctors receiving this honor.

Drs. Costello and Postalian not only have met these stringent criteria, but they also have demonstrated exceptional skill, compassion and dedication in their respective fields. Their commitment to their patients and willingness to go above and beyond sets them apart as rising stars in the medical community.

Dr. Costello specializes in preventative cardiology and interventional cardiology. She is renowned for her expertise in women’s heart and vascular issues and her ability to provide personalized, compassionate care to her patients.

Dr. Postalian is a highly skilled interventional cardiologist. He has gained a reputation for his technical proficiency and commitment to achieving the best possible patient outcomes.
