Dr. Matthew Segar To Compete in the AMA Research Challenge

The Texas Heart Institute’s Matthew Segar, MD, MS, will compete for a $10,000 prize in the American Medical Association’s AMA Research Challenge finals to be broadcast live on February 6, 2024, at 7:00 pm CST.

Dr. Segar is a third-year fellow in The Texas Heart Institute Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center. He will showcase his research on “Utilizing a ML-Enabled EMR Provider Workflow to Improve Non-Clinical Tasks” during the competition with four other finalists.

The AMA Research Challenge is the largest national, multi-specialty forum for medical students, residents, fellows and international medical graduates to to present their research.
