The 2nd Annual Perioperative MCS Symposium is a 2-day hybrid course. The symposium will take advantage of modern educational concepts to provide clinically relevant material through an interprofessional and multidisciplinary approach to the perioperative management of patients undergoing mechanical circulatory support (MCS). In addition, a complementary advanced critical care echocardiography (CCE) workshop will be offered. The highly interactive approach puts the learner in the position of the clinician needing to make both simple and more complex decisions commonly faced when providing MCS and utilizing CCE.
The evolving MCS experience through pediatric and adult populations has led to its further application in pediatric and adult congenital heart disease patients. This year we have collaborated with Texas Children’s Hospital, home to one of the world’s most respected Pediatric MCS teams. We are very excited to share an MCS continuum of care for patients of all ages.
