Dr. Padala received his Ph.D. in bioengineering from the combined programs at Georgia Tech and Emory University.  He completed post-doctoral training in cardiovascular mechanobiology at Harefield Heart Science Center before returning to Emory for a faculty position.  He is currently the Director of the Carlyle Fraser Heart Center Cardiothoracic Research Laboratory.  His research focuses on the biomechanics of the myocardium and cardiac valves.
