Girl Scouts Project Heart 2024 STEM Innovation Day with The Texas Heart Institute…and Cool-E

The Texas Heart Institute to Host Brownie & Junior Girl Scouts to Earn Project Heart Smart Patch

The Texas Heart Institute (THI) will host Brownies and Juniors from the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council on Saturday, April 6, for a morning of STEM learning with doctors, nurses, sonographers, scientists, and engineers from across The Institute.

The scouts will learn about the importance of staying fit for heart health with robot “Cool-E” of Project Heart fame while exploring heart anatomy, the cardiovascular system, healthy eating, and exercise.

While the girls have fun with games and activities, their troop leaders will get a private tour of The Institute and Wallace D. Wilson Museum. Troop leaders will also learn about strategies for incorporating heart-healthy practices into their meetings and how to include the Project Heart curriculum in troop activities throughout the year.

Juniors will work toward their Staying Fit badge and Brownies toward their My Best Self badge. All Girl Scouts will receive a special Cool-E Patch.
