Could my hyperthyroidism be the cause of my heart problems?
Can my diagnosis of mild left ventricle concentric thickening and mild sclerosis of the aortic valve be caused by hyperthyroidism that I just was diagnosed with?

by George Younis, MD Hi Julie, the aortic valve sclerosis is not likely related to the thyroid condition. The left ventricle thickening theoretically could be, if the hyperthyroidism was contributing to significant hypertension. However if hypertension already exists, that’s the more likely etiology.
