Question:

What treatment do I need for a right bundle branch block?

I’m a 29 yr old female. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with a right bundle branch block. I just found out a month ago that my grandfather had heart problems and died from them. Lately I have been experiencing heart pains. These pains have been starting to scare me. What should I do from here? What treatment might I need?

Hi Amber,

Having a family history of heart disease places you at higher risk of heart disease. Furthermore, cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women.

The RBBB finding on your EKG is nonspecific and does not signify that you have heart disease. However, with your family history and complaints of chest pain, I would recommend that you see a cardiologist for further evaluation. You are never too young to prevent heart disease, which can be prevented 85% of the time.
