Inspiring The Next Generation of Leaders in STEM

The Texas Heart Institute’s (THI) commitment to education sets it apart from other major cardiovascular centers. The Institute’s educational activities include public education outreach that promotes student engagement in science, technology, engineering, and math. The Texas Heart Institute hosts students each summer to help them learn and better understand scientific research and medicine. Students are matched with faculty members in our research laboratories to work on a project.

These projects help students develop a deeper understanding of medical research and medicine, and many students continue their partnership with the institution beyond their summer internships.

Meet the twelve brilliant students at The Texas Heart Institute who joined our team to learn about our mission and our role in reducing the devastating toll of cardiovascular disease through innovative and progressive programs in research and education.

Our student engagement video library features student multimedia projects, interviews, and news coverage about student outreach and education at the Texas Heart Institute.
