Dr. Jorge M. Escobar Joins The Texas Heart Institute Center for Cardiovascular Care
HOUSTON (January 20, 2023) — The Texas Heart Institute Center for Cardiovascular Care, the clinical practice of The Texas Heart Institute, announced today that Jorge M. Escobar, MD has joined its growing practice.
Dr. Escobar completed his medical degree in his home country of Colombia at the Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla and moved to the United States in 2008 to complete his medical residency training at The University of Texas, Health Science Center at Houston, and fellowship training in cardiology at The Texas Heart Institute. After graduation from the general cardiology fellowship program, he pursued an additional fellowship in interventional cardiology.

As a trainee of The Texas Heart Institute, Dr. Escobar trained in the newest diagnostic and therapeutic technologies in cardiovascular care.

Since 2005, Escobar has maintained academic faculty teaching appointments and brings extensive experience in preventing, diagnosing, and treating cardiovascular disease aimed at improving the health and well-being of his patients.
Prior to moving to Houston, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Anatomy and Human Physiology department at Fundación Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla Colombia, and from 2015-2019 he served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston’s Center for Advanced Heart Failure.
