Houston, TX (July 10, 2024) – The Texas Heart Institute is proud to announce the inaugural Cardiometabolic Syndrome Conference taking place Friday, August 23, 2024, at The Texas Heart Institute Denton A. Cooley Auditorium in the renowned Texas Medical Center. The conference will address an existing population health crisis that continues to rise in prevalence across the United States and will feature Arianna Huffington, founder and CEO of Thrive Global, a leader in behavior change technology.

Cardiometabolic Syndrome (CMS) poses a significant threat to public health due to its association with a cluster of conditions—such as hypertension, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, and obesity—that elevate the risk of developing severe diseases like heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and certain cancers. As these conditions become more prevalent, they contribute to a rising burden on healthcare systems, increase healthcare costs, and lead to a diminished quality of life for millions of individuals.

Understanding and addressing CMS is crucial not only for preventing these serious health outcomes but also for enhancing overall public health and longevity. The conference aims to bring together healthcare professionals from various disciplines to tackle the challenges associated with CMS and explore new approaches for prevention and treatment.
