THI Board of Trustees Hosts Festive, Texas-Style Holiday Lunch for Staff
The Board of Trustees of The Texas Heart Institute hosted a Texas-style holiday lunch for THI and The Texas Heart Institute Center for Cardiovascular Care staff.
President and CEO Joseph G. Rogers, MD, welcomed the more than 200 attendees and thanked them for their dedicated work throughout the year. He applauded the innovations of the Institute’s renowned researchers, described THI’s Education program as among the best in the nation, and recognized the many clinicians for their best-in-class care of cardiovascular patients.
Howard K. Schramm, Chief Administrative and Financial Officer and Vice President for Administration, also thanked attendees at the event and said, “It was wonderful to gather with The Texas Heart Institute family today to celebrate the holidays and each other.”
As a special highlight of this year’s holiday lunch, staff brought unwrapped gifts for children up to 12 years of age, which The Institute plans to donate next week to Santa Maria Hostel, a nonprofit that provides critical and life-changing services for low-income, indigent women and their children from Harris County and the surrounding 12 counties.
In addition to the great food and company, staff enjoyed a fun photo booth and festive balloons and floral decorations.
