THI Celebrates Its 60th Anniversary

This year marks the 60^th anniversary of the founding of the Texas Heart Institute by Dr. Denton A. Cooley.

In January THI kicked off a months-long commemoration of six decades of milestones and achievements, and on August 3—Founder’s Day— the staff united for a fun, summer workday lunch.

Included in the festivities were an ice cream cart and popcorn, along with a photo booth and a raffle. The staff were encouraged to wear their favorite THI or Astros shirts… and many did.

Making a special appearance was our Project Heart Smart mascot, Cool-E the robot, who proved very popular.
